The kicker in the article is it seems to be at the expense of reading books, but if young people get into the idea of short, physical, multi-subject, broad theme publications early on, maybe it can lead to a life habit that could impact the desire for magazines.

Would love to see this. At a time when there is SO much music to try and get your head around it seems there couldn’t be a better time. But yes, less glossy, more messy, more fun and low stakes, more personality and joy, more experimental. If younger generations (alright grandad Scrimshire) want more friction in their consumption, SURELY this is the moment.

I was so deeply into this record when it came out. My mum actually bought it as a long time Style Council fan. I had started learning guitar and really wanted to be able to play so many of these songs. It sat super comfortably alongside the Portishead and Isaac Hayes I was playing so much at the time too.
