Thought I was losing my mind but I could not find the chocolate in the recipe as posted. I see it in my copy of Italian Cookies. I’m sure it was just an oversight.

You are so right, Ronald. The recipe as posted is for Amaretti Abruzzesi, not Moretti. I neglected to add the cocoa powder in the ingredients list and instructions. I've now updated the recipe. Thank you for letting me know!

In 2023 on a Fabrizio Lucci guided tour of Abruzzo with dear friends, we were fortunate to spend time in Scanno. We watched a bobbin lace demonstration and visited Ilario’s bakery. I do not remember the name of the different cookies we purchased, but all were delicious.

Domenica, I always enjoy reading you. Am just back from Sta. Margherita as well as Ticino, both places visiting hometowns of our great grandparents. Went with my 4 sisters. A glorious trip! Am re-ignited about our family food from San Francisco and our Mom and Nonna! Thank you always for your writing and best to you about your new cookbook!!
