Midlife realizations, lived experience, and becoming myself out loud. I write for women in midlife who feel like they’re coming undone—because they’re finally telling the truth.

Reflections on one month post-separation from my husband. Writing this helped me separate myself from my grief momentarily. One of the many gifts of writing.

Day 28
\
It’s been a month since I packed my belongings and left a home that I loved to move into an apartment in a major U.S. city 5 hours away. I was at my breaking point. I couldn’t do one more day, let alone an entire summer carrying the tensions of our blended family alone.

27 days ago I separated from my husband, moved out of my home, and into an apartment to a major city 5 hours away.

Each day is different. Some days I feel like I’m moving forward. Some days I feel frozen in complete shock. Some days I believe it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Some days are filled with regret.

I dont like being in this place, but I didn’t like where I was before.

Follow me as I intentionally design the life of my dreams.

I hope you get to chat with a friend,

Walk your pup,

And eat something wonderful today. ✨

Am I the only one who gets slightly irked when I see a celebrity starting a Substack?

I know, I know. There’s enough room for everyone, everyone deserves a creative outlet, yada yada.

What really irks me is the subscription options. (Unnamed celebrity), you are worth 10s of millions of dollars. Do you really need me to pay you $80 a year to read your articles? Otherwise I just get a link to the weekly podcast?

When is enough, enough?😵‍💫

Don’t you just love those days when you wake up and just know that the vibes are immaculate and you are going to keep it that way alllll day?

That’s my goal in life- I want to wake up feeling like every day is full of possibilities and I’m always ready to take anything on that comes my way. ✨

Fantastic read, one I will be thinking about for the rest of the day.

To be yourself is to engage with your life intentionally, consciously, and inquisitively.\

I took a two week break from Substack.

I was overwhelmed with feeling the need to respond to everyone who reads or interacts with my work.

I just appreciate everyone so much!

I’m meeting myself with grace, and remembering that I started this Substack as a creative outlet for myself, and to connect with others.

Connection is not forced, it happens organically with intention.

Happy to be back on here! ✨

In my experience, the best way to overcome writers block is to stop caring so much.

As soon as I give up on worrying about it, and I focus on what I’m doing in the present,

Inspiration hits.

If today you found out you only had a few, (2-5) years left to live,

What would you change in your life? ✨

I think having fun everyday would be a non-negotiable, whether that’s watching an old movie that I love, or going to a theme park.

I think I might need to change some of the people in my life.

I think I would spend an hour a day telling my people I loved them.

I think would eat dessert every day.
