My Mother Died Yesterday.

My mom died yesterday.

My piece “Miners Lantern” is a reflection on the North East PA Coal Region, and the hard working men and women who kept the region alive in the late 1800’s.

We should be mindful that:

  1. Transformation doesn’t simply mean spiritual.
  2. Transformation was never meant to be kept to ourselves.
  3. Transformation takes time.

I’ve been watching my mother die for a month. The end of her life is near. In a few hours I will be a parentless daughter.

There will be a last time you look someone in the eyes. Make sure to dwell in the small moments while you can.

I slept in the bathroom.
