Rage Bait Lit: Harper's Bazaar shared a really compelling article this week on how the books taking over internet conversations (Yesteryear, Famesick, Strangers) are all tied to controversial takes, messy truths, and angry women (AKA, the reality TV of reading). I'm really curious what's next to come in this "genre" and whether we'll soon tire of the rage bait bit.

It seems so obvious to me & to so many writer friends that the writing, the process, is the point. The long, long, hard struggle is itself the end result, the book a palimpsest. I go to books partly because I want to know: what has it been like for you to be alive? I write, in part, to try to answer that question as truthfully as I can. Every person’s answer will be different & has the potential to be differently astonishing. What on earth AI has to do with any of this is beyond me
