What Wows Me, Part 3: On Screen

For years now, I’ve been asking myself lots of questions about my art practice, but one question has continued to return to me in different forms: What is my work in the world?

The Year in Color: Spring

As much as I love the new greens, I want to talk about the range of pinks, purples, and reds that are also the colors of earliest spring.

Beachcombing: What the Sea Provides

Now that I’ve stopped collecting shells, I’ve begun photographing them, paying attention to the textures, the patterns, the colors (which fade quickly when shells are collected anyway). I'm interested to see how they find their way into my artwork.

Recognition as a Source of Wonder

As I keep walking in the woods, and as I keep taking photograph after photograph of the plants I’ve come to know more intimately, grateful that they persist year after year, I’m also moving towards trying to capture a deeper and more extended relationship with these plants in my artwork.
