Liverpool

My host for the weekend meets me at the station. He's an Irish Pagan (I think) and wears a green hat with a feather in. He takes me to the gardens below the cathedral - there's a spring here, and we wait our turn before filling up our water bottles. I drink directly from the spring and wash my face. Then we're up to the Cathedral.

Chester to New Brighton

I am, once again, a fool. I don't know what is going on in my head during the first moments of my waking, but I became very convinced that my host would be incredibly offended. I didn't finish the cup of tea she made for me last night. I thought this meant I should try and pour it into an empty ribena bottle, so I could take it with me and dispose of it…

Keele to Chester

I take a rest day in Keele, and we venture out to Little Moreton Hall, a fantastically wonky and warped timber framed manor house. There's a talk on medieval knitting, which is very interesting, and then we drive up to Mow Cop, a folly ruin on a high peak. Cheshire spread out before us is much flatter than expected. Beautiful.

Day 205 to 210 - London

There is a cheese shop in Hartington. Packed up, I head down the hill from my hostel, and purchase some cheese to share with my friends in London. They give me an ice pack (which they definitely charged me for. Definitely.) and wrap everything up. It should last the journey.

Day 204 - Castleton to Hartington

Days 202 and 203 - Edale to Castleton

Day 200 - Thornhill to Edale

I am, I realise, an idiot when I haven't quite woken up. I didn't set an alarm, and as planned, the sun wakes me up very early. I am unhappy about this, because it's too bright and hurts my eyes. I'm sure that if I go back to sleep, the sun will get less bright. It's dawn which is bright, not the sun. I put my sleeping bag over my face.
